To amend the Controlled Substances Act to better align such Act with modern medical knowledge, establish a new system for the scheduling of controlled substances, redelegate certain authorities, promote scientific research, and for other purposes.

Referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, and in addition to the Committees on the Judiciary, Oversight and Government Reform, Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Transportation and Infrastructure, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
